•Make up and Costume Process
•Here you can see the behind the scenes
images of the protagonist getting her make up completed by Sianna for the first
video shoot. It was decided by Sianna to have the protagonist to look natural
and simple especially as the first shots are of Christina in the street
surrounded by nature. Moreover, it was decided that her costume should be a
reflection of RnB therefore we dressed her in a common piece of clothing
(oversized shirt) worn by RnB artists.
We planned to have her dressed in red because the colour red connotes romance
and anger which is her attitude throughout the narrative.
•Photographs of Protagonist
•These photographs are of Christina, the
protagonist, posing in the first location, these are the first photographs
taking of her on the scene. What was intriguing about filming in this
particular was the simplicity of the location, this allowed Christina to
standout more and be the centre of
attention due to the red, which led to the next photograph of her posing next
to the red post box. The idea of the photographs is that she is the main focus
which is what we want to display within the narrative and photos. Furthermore,
the purpose of these photographs is not only to capture the location but the
protagonists body language and the attitude she portrays with it. From this we
believe that the audience can connote how the protagonist is going to behave
and the intentions of the video.
•Here are more photographs of the
protagonist on Josephine Ave, Brixton Hill, displaying her fierce attitude
which has been reflected on the colour red.
•Photographs of protagonist in different
location:
•Here are images of Christina in front of
a graffiti wall in Brixton Hill, we chose to shoot in front of this wall
because we were interested in showcasing the creativity and believed that the
women did have some use as to reflecting on how the protagonist feels. As you
can see through the images the portrait of
the women plays a role of reflecting on Christina’s feelings, this can
be seen through the women’s tears as well as the use of colours that suggest
she is dealing with a variety of emotions. The portrait uses colours such as
red which we liked as it would not only match Christina’s shirt but her anger,
we also liked that majority of the portrait was black in which connotes
isolation as well as suffering which again reflects on Christina and the use of
single takes of just the protagonist singing to the audience (direct address)
will demonstrate this.
Possible Promotional Cover
•Here we have decided to explore a
different side to the protagonist where she is positioned in the centre of
two street signs, this is a reference to being stuck ‘at cross roads’ which
means that the person is stuck at this precise moment in their lives. In this
music video we have decided to portray the protagonist this way because we
wanted to give the impression of her being confused emotionally and mentally
due to her positon in her intimate relationship with a boy she cares deeply
about. The protagonist is placed in as position where she has to choose to stay
with a boy that is seeing another girl or leave him and become heartbroken,
this picture connotes that she cannot choose rather to stay or leave.
